Sophisticated Taggers, and a Tree Grows (In Front of Our Apartment) In Brooklyn
Brooklyn, New York: home of the most sophisticated graffiti artists anywhere in the world. Here’s proof:
This example isn’t as sophisticated as some of the subway poster alteration art that goes on around the city, but the industrious tagger did spell “bourgeois” correctly. Gold star for them!
And in other news, as part of New York’s MillionTreesNYC project which promises to plant one million trees across the five boroughs in the next decade, we done got us a tree in front of our apartment.
As I was leaving for work the other morning, I opened the front door only to be greeted by a backhoe digging up part of the sidewalk. When I returned home, this cute Littleleaf Linden tree.
MillionTreesNYC has gotten some press lately due to the involvement of Sting and The Police, who donated $1 million to the program. Nice publicity for their final shows here, but a darn good thing to do regardless.
