retro gaming 2008: its old

by ben traub | Filed under Geekery and Software and Video Games at 12:48 pm | Add a comment »

i found a nice little site that tinkers with some of the earliest of classic video games, namely pac man and space invaders. the twist is that each game has been re-tooled to either increase the difficulty level to some stupid range or to get you to play long enough for a pretty good joke [...]

Video App Lust: TubeTV, Lostify

I’m always thrilled when some developer launches an application that enables me to further my obsessive compulsiveness. I’m not a programmer myself, so it’s great when someone else does the hard work and I can concentrate on being anal retentive.

Buck 65, Microsoft Office Mac 2008

Buck 65’s latest, Situation, should not be missed if you’re into hyper-intelligent hip-hop wordsmithing with beats and samples you surely won’t recognize. On another note, the new Microsoft Office Mac 2008 is actually worth it.

I don’t know where I have been for the last year, but I just came across SpotRunner.com via Chris Baggot’s blog.
I also found an old post on Seth Godin’s blog about this as well, and he sums it up best:
The good news here is that:
a. it becomes astonishingly easy to test local TV. And if [...]

OS X Tip : Creating a Bootable backup on a FireWire Drive
Everyone knows to create a backup before you do an Archive and Install or any sort of system maintenance, but very few actually do it. A recent experience has shown me the value of creating a mirror of your computer onto an external drive. [...]
