Reading over the current Pazz and Jop Poll told me one of two things, and one day I may figure out which: the Village Voice is no more or less relevant than the Stone, Magnet, or re-runs of Thirtysomething; or my own tastes are so far outside of even “alternative” (for lack of a better term) that I’m the one who’s irrelevant.
