The Weakerthans at Webster Hall
The Weakerthans should be huge stars.
If it weren’t for the facts that they don’t care, and they’re too smart to get major radio airplay, they probably would be.

OS X Tip : Creating a Bootable backup on a FireWire Drive
OS X Tip : Creating a Bootable backup on a FireWire Drive
Everyone knows to create a backup before you do an Archive and Install or any sort of system maintenance, but very few actually do it. A recent experience has shown me the value of creating a mirror of your computer onto an external drive. [...]
Product Review: InCase Protective Cover for iPhone
InCase “Protective Cover for iPhone” Review
I have made the mistake of holding out for the perfect cell phone or iPod case in the past. This has always ended up with a cracked iPond Nano screen, or a scuffed up cellphone. I have never really worried though, because I knew that one day I would [...]
Thoughts on the iPhone Price Drop
This is a post I wrote in while attempting to become a blogger with TUAW. They didn’t pick me, so enjoy this somewhat dated post.
Thoughts on the iPhone Price Drop
Everyone knew it was coming, the iPod touch is finally here. After years of speculation, Apple has finally unveiled the mecca of iPods. Of course, [...]

Interview with Matthew Caws and Daniel Lorca of Nada Surf

Matthew and Daniel of Nada Surf where kind enough to sit down for an interview before their show at Birdy’s Thursday. I was fortunate to be joined by Richard Edwards of Margot [...]

See What Happens?! Real SDK for iPhone
I stop looking at Google Reader for a couple of days, and my speculations come true.
Apple will be releasing a software development kit for the iPhone in February.
Quoting Steve Jobs:
Let me just say it: We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February. [...]

DLR, EVH and me: Van Halen in Indy, review of 10/14 show
A headful of cheap drugs, a hot summer day in the T-Top T-Bird, and some skeezy 17-year-old girl picked up at the Dairy Dream was probably the formula for rocking last time Van Halen came through with David Lee Roth. I’m not sure though, because I was five. This hard rockin’ fool and his dollars [...]
You Got Your Third Party Apps, Now Hush
Cries of monopoly? Please. Buy a different phone. Don’t like the product and the way it works? There are plenty others out there.

Pinback at the Nokia Theater
The Nokia Theater is in Times Square, somewhere New Yorkers rarely go unless it’s absolutely necessary. This show was like seeing a rock show at EPCOT Center. It’s carpeted, it’s way too clean for a rock club, and they’d love to sell you a Nokia phone from the display cases.

Today’s NBA Can’t Touch “Pistol” Pete
The old cliche of “born with a basketball in his hands” doesn’t do this man justice. It would be more appropriate to say basketball was born with Pete Maravich cradling it.

Radiohead “In Rainbows”: You set the price.
I just got an email from Radiohead. They are selling pre-orders for their new record, “In Rainbows.” Options are for a “disc box” included vinyl, CD, an enhanced CD, artwork book, lyric book, and a bunch of other awesomness, INCLUDING a digital download of the entire album, all for 40 pounds.
If you don’t want to [...]
Home, Highways and Healthcare
Two things struck me while I was here: the sound of highways is ubiquitous, and Indianapolis has more hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities than any city I’ve ever seen.
