Here is my list of upcoming shows in the Indianapolis area for October. I am sure there are a ridiculous amount of other shows that I am missing, so please let me know in the comments and I will update. I also included a couple for November. Also, if you are a RockitBomb contributor, or [...]

Modest Mouse in Indianapolis

by Brian Wyrick | Filed under Indianapolis and Shows at 11:29 pm | Add a comment »

Modest Mouse will be playing at the Murat Egyptian Room in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday, November 12th at 7:00 pm; in case you haven’t heard. Opening will be Man Man, who are described in Wikipedia detail as “a playfully existential United States Viking-vaudeville punk-wop rock-and-soul collective from Philadelphia.” Also opening will be Love As Laughter, [...]

Megadeth - September 21st - Show Review and Photos

What do people who wear Dio shirts, the freakishly short, a guy on crutches, and men with prettier hair than I have in common? An unwavering devotion to Megadeth, that’s what, and I joined them at Friday’s show at the Murat Egyption Room. Now, let me admit that I am no Megadeth super-fan, [...]

Yuppies Poop Everywhere

by Chandler | Filed under Rants at 9:51 am | Add a comment »

Around our neighborhood, I’ve learned that “yuppie” is code for “I’ve lived here for many years, my family has lived in this neighborhood for generations, and you 20- to 30-something white kids are moving in here and gentrifying our neighborhood.”

Look for an upcoming podcast interview with Euroboy, guitar god of Norway’s Turbonegro. The denim dudes just dropped their newest deathpunk opus, Retox, on Scandinavia Leather Recordings/Cooking Vinyl USA and landed in the USA yesterday to begin a string of dates in support of the record.
Check out their tour schedule and some new and old [...]

He’s not ironic, he’s not mocking the music. He’s just an arguably disturbed man with a killer set of pipes.

Bloc Party - Photos and Ride Home Show Episode 8

by Brian Wyrick | Filed under Indianapolis and Music and Podcasts at 1:56 am | Add a comment »

Tatjana and I had the opportunity to catch Bloc Party at the Murat Egyptian Room last night, and Greg Andrews grabbed some awesome live photos.
We regrettably missed Smoosh and Final Fantasy, although Greg got some shots in. Bloc Party was interesting to watch, awesome at times, and not so awesome at others, but the show [...]

That Whole 9/11 Thing

by Chandler | Filed under Rants at 7:09 pm | Add a comment »

I see the hole where the World Trade Center used to be. I see the cleanup workers coming into the hospital for their check-ups, hacking, coughing, dying.

What else do I see? A city full of firm-shouldered people, hurrying through their days doing the same thing everyone else here is: just getting along.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

It was brought to my attention that I’m apparently easily found on Google. I honestly had no idea, because while you might think I’m an egomaniac, I don’t spend a lot of time looking up my own name on the Internet.

I won’t say much about today’s news from Apple, other than I am kind of kicking myself for not being patient and saving myself 200 bucks. I knew this day would come, I just didn’t expect it so soon.

I am really excited about the wi-fi downloads. I’d prefer completely [...]

Apparently I have been sleeping under a rock. I just saw this on Gizmodo. A honest to goodness SpacePort is being built in New Mexico. So I was sitting in my favorite coffeeshop excited about this new cd I had gotten.
